Motifs, a project initiated during a one-month residency at La Parenthèse (University of Angers), is a series of drawings and paintings on fabric.

Taking the residency’s location and its surroundings as the starting point, the artist adopted an immersive approach, exploring the space both inside and out while collecting plants to create a color palette. The techniques developed by the artist during this first residency were then further explored during a second residency at Galerie Trois Murs.

Inspired by the decorative embroidery and weavings of the Laografiki Silogi tou Dimou Grevenon (Folk art Collection in Grevena, Greece), the artist began a new process of surveying the summer landscapes in Savennières-Béhuard, creating a visual vocabulary drawn from the surroundings.
